NFRONT Speed
This class imitates core elements of our comprehensive youth speed training program and includes drills such as planks, push-ups, crunches, and other fun challenging activities like sled pulls and parachute sprints. Training builds muscles and bones, and aerobic benefits help strengthen the cardiovascular and pulmonary muscles, as well as help children keep their weight under control. This level of training establishes a child’s athletic foundation for improved performance, injury prevention, and long-term enjoyment of sports.
NFRONT Track & Field
NFRONT believes that kids need grassroots athletics programming to develop, learn and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with sports. This 50-minute class allows young athletes new to the sport to try multiple track and field-related events like turbo javelin, sprints, shot put, mini hurdles, broad jumps and endurance runs. Equipment is provided along with instructions and examples on proper technique. Classes take place outdoors in grass or indoors in the gym (depending on season), and final class concludes in a single day event format where medals are awarded at the end to each child as a reminder of the hard work put in.
NFRONT Flag Football
Future stars play 7-on-7 football games using age-appropriate flags and football equipment outdoors on grass. Young players will learn proper fundamentals of the game and have opportunities to try all positions during the course of the class. Along with football games, activities include the following: Football mechanics, Throws at targets, Timed obstacle courses, Long throw-punt-kick contests, etc.
NFRONT 3-on-3 Basketball
Young hoopers are taught the game from the 3-on-3 half-court style of play. Each day begins with instructions, drills, and skill development first (written and actual physical by the coach). Then athletes are grouped into teams for the day and compete in age-appropriate match-ups for competitive games and sportsmanship. In addition to games, class includes the following activities: Free-throw contests, Knock-out tournaments, 2-on-2, and 1-on-1 challenges.
NFRONT 5-day Half-Marathon
One-week fitness challenge event where the participants complete a half-marathon (13.1 miles) over the course of a 5-day week. The event takes place on a course marked off within the Central Park jogging trail / grounds. Averaging 2.62 miles per day over a 5-day period, this spread timeframe takes the edge off of our version of this grueling race from Greek legend. Proper hydration and warm-up required; athletes will have access to water during the run to keep them in motion for the full route.
NFRONT Youth Triathlon
One-week camp where the participants train over the first 4 days to compete in a single-day race event on the final day in swimming, running, and biking. Athlete will complete physical tests of each discipline during the week to ensure the understanding and capabilities expected to successfully complete the event. Course map of the route will be provided and a walkthrough of the event periodically throughout the week. Participants must bring their own bicycles for this event. Trophies awarded to top finisher for each age group.
